This fun devotional that’s written just for girls, provides real-life teaching based on key principles from the Bible. It will speak to young girls at a level they can relate to, using relevant terms and fun illustrations. Each devotion features and opening verse, devotion, self-evaluation quiz, ideas for application, memory verses, and original illustrations. Topics include caring for others, humility, cheating, worrying, and more! Recommended for ages 8 to 12 years.
More Girls Only Devotions is obviously a devotional geared toward girls. Specifically 8-12 year old girls. Now I know Ash just turned 13 but I thought maybe some of this still applied to her, so we looked at this one together.
Right away we loved some of the topics that were covered. Every topic starts off with a verse. ( The way it should be) I thought the topics were well written as well as age appropriate. That being said, topic subjects ranged from the death of a parent, cheating, bullying, even greed.
There was one thing that bothered both Ash and I was that EVERYTHING was pink. The text, the pictures, and the side notes. ALL OF IT. For a girl who doesn’t like pink it was the only major turn off of the book.
But, Ash did love the check up pages after the devotion. She loved how you could take a mini quiz. She loved the extra things to do as well as the extra verses to memorize. Ash said it is a devotion she would most likely use. Of course as her mom I love hearing that. So I would recommend this devotion for young girls.
