I have loved Lisa Tawn Bergren’s books ever since I read “God Gave Us You” to my daughter the very first time. There is something about her books that keep that child like faith and curiosity. Her new book God Gave Us Easter is no exception.
Lisa Tawn Bergren‘s own website tells us that:
Lisa Tawn Bergren is the best-selling, award-winning author of over 30 books, with more than 1.5 million copies sold. She just finished writing a Colorado historical trilogy (the first book, Breathe, Sing and Claim), and has begun a teen series called River of Time (Waterfall, book 1, comes out in February 2011).
Lisa’s time is split between managing home base, writing (including a fair amount of travel writing), consulting and freelance editing (with a little speaking here and there). She’s married to Tim, a liturgical sculptor, graphic designer and musician. They have three kids–Olivia (15), Emma (12) and Jack (7).
So, what did I like about this book? It seemed that with every page I turned another topic was handled with such grace and simple answers. Lisa tackled topics like the Easter Bunny (which my little one’s have just discovered is Daddy), what an Easter egg represents, death and letting go of things so we can welcome better into our lives. I love the way the questions are asked by Little Cub and answered by Papa Bear. Lets be honest kids are FULL of questions.
Since my younger two children are boys (and very squirmy ones) I did print out this coloring sheet for them to color while I read the book. Although in the end I didn’t need it! My boys loved looking at the pictures in the book that they waited until I was done reading to color the page. I am just so thankful for all the books that Lisa Tawn Bergren has written. These books are a definite must read to your children.
